About Mizuhiki

Mizuhiki is made by rolling washi paper into a rope shape and applying water-based glue to harden it so that the twist does not come loose. There are various theories, but this is said to be the origin of the word mizuhiki. One theory is that the mizuhiki culture began in the Asuka period. Mizuhiki is a symbol of good luck, and in addition to the meaning of "warding off evil spirits" and "warding off evil," it also has the meaning of "matchmaking."
