The silk-like jacquard-woven material is woven with the noble paulownia, bamboo, phoenix and kirin motifs favored by aristocrats throughout history. It is dyed using the traditional hand-dyed Yuzen gradation technique and sprinkled with gold glitter to create a more luxurious and gorgeous finish. The streamers are in five traditional colors based on the auspicious wavy undulation pattern. In the center, a winged flying dragon, the highest rank, is depicted to make the dragon in the legend of the Dragon Gate soar even higher.

Tokunaga Haruho, founder of Tokunaga Koinobori, is a representative Japanese painter from Okayama.

Learning from the famous bijin-ga (portraits of beautiful women) artist Ito Shinsui, Haruho shocked the art world with her unprecedented refined and elegant carp streamers, painted with the delicate brushwork characteristic of Japanese painting and a unique worldview.

Representative carp streamers include "Celebratory Carp, Auspicious Sign" and "Presented Hand-dyed Yuzen Carp, Kyo Nishiki."

Auspicious Jaguar Weave

Regular jacquard weaving generally has 190 threads. A higher density version has 210 threads. These two types are said to be the most common.
However, Kitcho is made with a higher density of 318 threads, giving it a more lustrous and soft feel like silk. It also has a strong side as a carp streamer, while incorporating the paulownia, bamboo and phoenix motifs.

　

Water-repellent treatment finish

The fabric is treated with a water-repellent finish, which means it repels water better than conventional products, is less likely to shrink or wrinkle, and is more resistant to rain. Furthermore, the coating effect means it is less likely to fade, and has a vibrant, durable finish.
