Oda Pottery was founded in 1921 in Mizunami city, Gifu prefecture, the birthplace of Mino ware.
The area around Mizunami City in eastern Gifu Prefecture, along with the neighboring cities of Tajimi and Toki, has flourished as a production area of ​​Mino ware, and is also known as the "Pottery Capital of Japan" due to its wide variety of materials, designs, and techniques, and has supported Japan's ceramic culture. Mizunami City, where Oda Toki is located, has flourished as one of the world's leading producers of white porcelain since the early Meiji period, producing and exporting Western-style tableware to Europe and the United States. Oda Toki has been making white porcelain tableware for about 100 years, bearing in mind the techniques and passion of its predecessors that have been passed down in this region over the years.
